A block of eight flats was consuming water at a very high rate of over
£5,300 per annum. Contractors were engaged to identify if the system was
leaking, but no leaks were found and the usage could not be explained.
MLP contacted Thames Water - and after several visits, it was established that there was a leak under the pavement between the meter and the place where the water entered the building. Once the leak was stopped, Thames Water monitored usage for several months and calculated back-charges, resulting in a £17,000 rebate.
